WAUKESHA— Wednesday, July 20, 2016—The Waukesha Salvation Army today announced that Karl Robe, principal owner of Karl James & Company, has joined its 20-member advisory board. The branding and marketing executive sees great opportunity to raise awareness of the Salvation Army’s year-round commitment to ‘Doing the Most Good’ in Waukesha County.
“For many of us, the Salvation Army elicits images of bell ringers and red-kettle-giving during Christmas,” Robe says. “For the most vulnerable in our community, however, the Salvation Army brand represents a helping hand throughout the year to receive life’s essentials, such as food, clothing and shelter.”
Robe has counseled executives from multi-national companies to start-ups in branding, public affairs and leadership communications. He’s achieved Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), certifying a candidate’s knowledge of public relations practice, communications theory, management science and ethics.
“My decision to join the board centered on its lengthy tradition of efficiently and effectively serving residents of Waukesha County,” Robe says. “The Salvation Army of Waukesha started in 1894. Grover Cleveland was president. Yet, need remains strong for donors and volunteers to help us serve.”
The Salvation Army of Waukesha Board advises Majors Nelson and Deborah De Le Vergne on programming and services offered, facility needs, annual fundraising efforts, marketing and public relations, volunteer development, as well as long- and short-range planning and annual budgeting.
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God.
